International Tug
of War tournament by Fam. Janssens, in Retie, Belgium
4. May 08
With
the Fam. Janssens is it well-known that they go to many
international tournaments, thus could also it on many clubs
count, which rendered them the honour. So clubs from Sweden,
Latvia, Netherlands, Germany, England, Basque country,
Ireland, Switzerland and Belgium were present. We went going
also to Belgium. The Stanser pulled in 600er, 640er and
mixes 600er kg. In mix strengthened by two swedish girls!
Andrea and Cornelia could pulled with a Swedish crew. All
gave their best. With the M 600er and mix 600er classified
themselves we for instance in the centre zone. In the 640kg
class we were second in the group and had thus qualified
ourselves for the quarterfinal. Unfortunately we could not
defeat Eibergen from Holland and separated. Andrea and
Cornelia were allowed to fetch the bronze medal with the
Swedish women!
It was a super tug of war weekend on very high level!
On 5 of April 08 we started our jurney at 9
a.m. with some friends and fans of the Tug of War club Stans-Oberdorf to
Roggwil, the largest indoor gocart course Europe. After a short
stabilization by coffee and Sandwiches we already started to
the warming up rounds. The Quali for 10
rounds became subsequently, for a long time, or rather short! It was already evident that Peter W,
Franz N, Bruno N. and Klaus Z fought themselves for the pole
position. After the jacked flag: on the third rank Peter W.
(+1.437sec), second became Franz
N.(+1.203sec) first became Bruno N. our Cartmaster. After
the races lunch was taken in the restaurant . It was
a very successful day. A big thanks to Guetli Stefan for
the organization.
