Of 25. - 28 February
most Stanser athlete will go to the indoors WC to Italy. In
the open as well as will participate to the WC. The place is
called Cesenatico and lies in close to Rimini. Now we
are fully in the preparations and much to train around the
medal of Killarney IRL to repeat or even improve!
The Men are pulling in
600kg, 640kg and 680kg.
First time ever is pulling Indoor also the women 500kg and
540kg for Switzerland!

Stans Oberdorf in the
Eichli met last Wednesday around the 26 persons of the Tug
of War club. With two buses of the Risi Car we traveled to
Assen NL. Despite three of back-up of altogether approx. 1
1/2 h we advanced well. On Wednesday evening was called it
wights for the open tournament of Thursday and Friday. All
Stanser crews did not have weight problems and could be
weighed. The first match day lined up. It was pulled in the
weight classes W560kg, M680kg, M600kg and J560kg. Since we
had bound also young and new athletes of us into the teams,
it was unfortunately enough for no team in the semi-final.
But Adrian Zumbühl, a young Stanser puller could draw with
Engelberg into the semi-final. They lost however the
semi-final and also the small final. Nevertheless that is a
large step for Adrian. Cordial congratulation. On Friday two
640er were teams at the start. Stans 1 and Stans 2. the
second crew was sent with young athletes and our experience
man Hans Zurmühle into running. Primarily internationally
tug of war air was valid too see for it to gain experiences
and. Our other team, Stans 1 became group first. Before we
in quarterlyfinally against the finalists the Veense Boys
from Holland lost. On Saturday the first Nationalteam
tournaments lined up. With the Women Nationalteam 560kg and
520kg less than seven Stanser women were not called in
national cadres. These are Dönni Luzia, Odermatt Andrea,
Burch Klara, Käslin Petra, Odermatt Manuela, Ziegler
Brigitte, Murer Nicole and Odermatt Cornelia. Even if not
all had an employment in Swiss Shirt, all to it-contributed
that team and a fourth rank in the 520kg team a 3rd place in
the 560kg could educate. But we Stanser could celebrate also
an European champion. Gold medal a more, can call itself
Franz Niederberger its own. Franz got the victory with the
720kg national team.
Fifth and last
championship tournament Engelberg (600kg)

After longer rain
phases in that days before the last championship
tournament in Engelberg was delivered. Eight crews were at
the start. Our
groupphases started badly. It was not a harmony in the
crew. But in the course of the tournament we could rear up
ever more and reached ourselves then also the semi-final.
We had to do it with Engelberg, which we had lost in the
group. Nottwil had against Mosnang. All four crews wanted
in the final that promised exciting fights. Mosnang
triumphed after two long fights against Nottwil. Engelberg
and Stans triumphed once in each case. That was called, it
must a 3rd. pulled. After one exciting third Pull and two
cautions we could draw nevertheless still into the final.
Then in the final against Mosnang we could turn however no
longer much and lost the final, but won altogether the
vice-Swiss master title.
On the day following
on it, in beautiful panorama weather our U-23 started
and also the Women Team on points hunts. The U-23 did
not know its achievements of training in the tournament
converted correctly. For some was it also the second or
third tournament of the season. Our new generation
occupied 7th conclusion rank. Our woman team coacht of
Armin Burch knew itself for halffinally qualify. They
left Mosnang and Melchtal of core in the group behind
itself. The semi-final was called Südbaden Mädels (D)
against Gonten and the other Stans against WAKA. Our
women team pulled strongly however lost against the team
from WAKA. Südbaden Mädels triumphed against
Gonten. The Stansers mobilized the last reserves over on
the landing to rise, lost however unfortunately also the
small final against east Swiss from Gonten.

560kg master
tournament (elite) and youth tournament 560kg

At the master tournament our titel
defense lined up to 560kg. Eight crews were announced and we
had a good start in the tournament. Also as it from
excavator buckets and it rained a deep and slippery trace
gave, fought we for the points. As the group second we
qualified ourselves for semi-finals. For the semifinals new
traces were made, this came for us well lain and could
strike the Nottwiler Puller with a clear 3:0. Mosnang could
become generally accepted against Gonten. The small final
again could win Nottwil. In the final we were not able
Stanser unfortunately, the title again win and occupied thus
the vice-Swiss master. At the youth 560 in a new tournament
mode (first round only one pull approximately
all other teams, 2 further quali rounds, final round) one
pulled. This benefitted our young crew consisting of four
women and five men. In the first round still at the 7th
place they created it last on the great 4th conclusion rank.
They defeated Appenzell in the qualiround, which stood in
the first round on place 1! All dreamed about the first
landing place, but they were unfortunately able to withstand
not against the Engelberger in the final round and occupied
thus 4th conclusion rank. Cordial congratulations to our two
Stanser crews.
In very warm weather the Mosliger
tournament was accomplished. On Saturday the 600kg elite
pulled. Waldkirch, Engelberg, Mosnang and Stans reached
the semi-final. We delivered into the groups only one
point against Engelberg. Thus we were first of the group.
Engelberg against Mosnang and Waldkirch against Stans in
the semifinals. We made short process and qualified and
for the final. In the other one halffinally itself
Engelberg could against Mosnang after long Fight
interspersed. The final was much stretching. Engelberg
could defeat us in the first Pull. Stans could adjust with
the second Pull on 1:1. Whereupon Engelberg had won and
went the place lot the other side, where we had won before.
Full motivation! We had approx. 3. 7m forward, had
nearly lost however we could our forces again mobilize and
made ourselves nearly eight meter good! Victory!
On Sunday our women Team had also a
championship tournament. Also they qualified themselves
for the semi-final. Since they had to change the team over
somewhat, you could unfortunately fight for no landing
place. The Stanser women classified itself on good 4th
conclusion rank
First
championship tournament 600kg in Luthern (Lucerne)

At most beautiful
weather last Sunday the first championship tournament in
the 600kg class took place. Altogether 10 crews
participated. The rounds was dominated by Mosnang and
Stans. Both teams stood in the semi-final. With Gonten and
Engelberg was that halffinally completely. The semi-final
consisted of a centre - and an east Swiss Derby. Stans and
Mosnang could pull themselves in the final. Gonten
triumphed in the small final against Engelberg. Mosnang
could not withstand the pressure of Stans, win there Stans
thus in the final 2:1 could.! Also the Stanser Women Team
and our youth crew had it first championship tournament.
The women occupied fourth conclusion rank and our youth
the 9th place.
This year, we haven`t an international Tournament!
General assembly of 28.2.09 in Stans
2. Feb. 09
After a small Apèro and a fine dinner, our
association president Christof Schmitter started the 37.
General assembly in the restaurant Engel with the
greetings. The Traktanden were gone through briskly. On
the honours in the part nine. Stefan " Guätli" Gut
to 10 years honoured. Stefan is active since `98 in the
club and since 2001 in the executive committee.
Armin " Tschämu" Burch started his career with the SZC
Wilen in `88. the 1994 changed it to Stans Oberdorf. Some
Swisscamp and international titles in 560kg, 640kg and
600kg with his team. Tschämu `s largest success is those
bronze medal of Ireland in the indoor TOW pulling.
Also Andi Murer was honoured. His career
began 1983 to `89. Then it made a break. Then Andi pulled
`92 and `93 again on the rope. It was with the 640kg and
720kg. Andi was swissmasters with the 560kg class, as well
as 9x640kg master and 4x720kg master! It got in each case
at a EC and a WC the golden medal with the 640kg. World
Games winner 640kg twice 1. Place and
once 2nd place. With the 720kg class once 1st place and
once 2nd place. As well as Andi was " also during the
television broadcast; "Wetten Dass??! " . It was active
since `86 in the committee as a bar and partytent chief
and off `94 as tournament leaders in our club. Andi never
lost a master tournament in Engelberg!!
